Machine-Room-Less elevators are the newest innovation in the elevator industry.
Machine-Room-Less elevators:
* Provide the opportunity for greater building efficiency by eliminating the machine room, and thus creating extra space.
* The lack of a Machine Room can make the placement of an elevator in an existing building more flexible.
• MRLs can be an alternative for hydraulic units, which are sometimes noisier and often require underground drilling.
For standard layouts, please see our Planning Guide in the Resources tab for preliminary planning of your project.

With 75 years of experience in constructing freight equipment, The Murphy Elevator Company understands heavy duty elevators. Murphy can custom design freight elevators at any size, speed and capacity. Murphy has installed freight elevators of all sizes in all types of buildings, including hospitals, schools, factories, high rises, hotels, warehouses, retail stores, and government facilities at capacities up to 20,000 pounds.
As always, everything we install is non-proprietary, giving you control over your equipment. Like all our products, these elevators are designed for years of heavy daily use. Please see our Planning Guide in the Resources tab for preliminary planning of your project.
In accordance with ASME A17.1, Rule 207.2b, Murphy can design your freight elevator to meet any of the freight elevator load classifications. Print Friendly Version

Since 1932, Murphy has installed all sizes of passenger elevator equipment in all types of buildings; including hospitals, schools, factories, high rises, hotels, warehouses, retail stores, and government facilities. We at Murphy Elevator believe that your equipment that we install is just that: your equipment. That is why we install non-proprietary components in everything that we do.
Hydraulic Equipment
Hydraulic equipment is engineered to serve buildings with five stories or less. Murphy specializes in custom jobs to fit a variety of sizes and capacities. Murphy also provides pre-engineered packages for standard installations. For projects with geology unsuited for drilling, holeless or roped hydraulic applications are available for service up to approximately 3 floors. Please see our Planning Guide in the Resources tab for preliminary planning of your project.
Traction Equipment
Traction equipment is engineered to serving buildings in excess of five stories, where greater speed and capacity is required. Murphy can custom engineer traction elevators for virtually any speed and capacity. Geared Traction Equipment is designed for speeds between 200-500 feet per minute. For High Rise applications, Gearless Traction Elevators can be designed for speeds from 500 feet per minute up to 1200 feet per minute. Please see our Planning Guide in the Resources tab for preliminary planning of your project.

Carrying on a Tradition of Integrity
The Murphy Elevator Company has succeeded in business since 1932 by doing its best to deliver honest value to its customers. Our founders called it “business integrity.” Unfortunately, this term today has become an oxymoron. It is a commentary on our times that the word “honesty” is now most often preceded by the qualifier “old fashioned.”
At Murphy, we wear the badge of “old-fashioned honesty” with pride: pride instilled in us by the founders of our company and passed down from generation to generation. Throughout the years of technological innovation, economic change, and management succession, integrity endures.
It shows in our efforts to offer customers products that best service their needs, not ours. Service, while intangible, has real value that can be measured in many ways. It shows in the quality workmanship of our installers and service technicians. And our sales consultants and our support staff. And our management.
Integrity. As our business enters its fourth generation, it is still the backbone of our company. |
